We wanted summer nails. We gave summer nails. Simple as that!
If I'm being honest, I was very motivated to get this one sorted quickly, because I thought the next box was going to be the one landing while I'm away on holiday, so that needed planning at the same time. So the ideas came fast, from the BAs and from me, and the brief was clear: bright colours, something that smells like summer, and a nail art brush so every subscriber could go off and create something completely their own. I love that no two unboxings look the same.
And honestly? This month came together beautifully. No chaos. No last-minute pivots. Just brilliant brands doing brilliant things. (Well... almost. More on that in a sec.)
The Brands Behind July 🌸
Opal Glow was in before we'd even properly started planning. Toni was down for this month from the very beginning, and she went above and beyond. She designed specific labels to make the cuticle oil unique to us. It's exclusive to The Curated Club, and it smells incredible. She even sent a little gift with some extra scents for subscribers to try. That kind of thoughtfulness is everything.
The Gel Obsession. We gave her the brief, the budget, and she ran with it. Four gel polish colours and a chrome palette. Every single one of them summer-perfect. She also really helped us out by connecting us with their box contact, which is a huge deal for us right now. More on that below. 👇
MSK Nails offered to put in the nail art brush before we even asked. And then I saw the moulds. I was like... we need these in. She was up for it straight away. That's the kind of energy we love working with.
What I keep learning is that the brands we work with genuinely care. They love that subscribers get to try their products. It's so humbling, honestly. Every single one of them has been kind, flexible, and just... lovely to work with.

A Big (Behind-the-Scenes) Win 📦
This one's exciting and I want to share it with you. Right now, I source everything separately, boxes, stickers, all of it, because our quantities are still relatively low. But we're growing. And thanks to Helen at The Gel Obsession connecting us with their box supplier, we now have personalised boxes designed and ready to order the moment we run out of our current stock.
That means no more making up boxes by hand, no more stickering everything individually. It saves us money, gives us more wiggle room on the products inside, and honestly? It's a huge achievement for a small business like ours. Thank you, Helen. 🤍
The Education This Month 📖
The theme came straight from my own life, because I'm going on holiday, and when I've spoken to nail techs and other self-employed people, so many of them don't give themselves a break. Either they're scared they won't get paid, or scared they'll lose clients. Sound familiar?
So this month's education was: Time Off, Booked Up? How to Take a Holiday Without Your Business Falling Apart.

We also did a French masterclass live. I'll be honest, I'm new to this format. Only a handful came, but we had fun, and it was about 20 minutes which felt right. I know I can do better, and I will. You're all learning to run your businesses, and I'm learning how to coach you without just reading from a PDF I make, which is a whole different skill. So thank you for showing up, being patient, and making it fun. That's the vibe we're going for: fun, not too long, a little chaotic, and always real.
The Tiny Bit of Chaos (There's Always Something 😅)
I said no chaos this month... and mostly that's true. But Helen's delivery got squashed in transit and sent back to her, so she had to post everything out again. She handled it like an absolute pro.
Oh, and one subscriber ended up with two cuticle oils in their order. Look, it's just me packing, mistakes happen. But at least that was a good mistake for whoever got it. You're welcome. 😂
Also, the free box ticket this month went unclaimed. Every month, one ticket goes out and one subscriber gets their next box free. Unfortunately no one claimed it in time this month.
